Our story

From a car-park lot to a community.

SEMRA began as a small gathering of a few Muslim residents in Suncity Estate, who spread their prayer mats and observed ṣalāh in a car-park lot on Pomona Street, donated by a brother among us.

From those humble beginnings, we have grown into a thriving community with a proper mosque, a children's Islamiyyah academy, and a welfare brotherhood serving families across the estate.

What we do

A complete community life, grounded in faith.

Six arms of service from the five daily prayers to caring for families in hardship. Each is run by trusted volunteers and overseen by the association's elders.

Daily & Jumuʿah Ṣalāh

All five daily prayers with iqāmah in congregation, and a weekly Friday Khutbah. The masjid is open from Fajr to Isha, every day of the year.

Islamiyyah Academy

Qurʾan, Tajwīd, and Islamic studies for children weekends and after-school, taught by qualified ʿulamāʾ.

Community & Eid Events

Eid prayers, family fun days, iftār during Ramaḍān, and seasonal lectures that bring the estate together.

Daʿwah & Qur'an Circles

Weekly halaqah, tafsīr, and memorisation circles for all ages building knowledge, one verse at a time.

Sadaqah & Welfare

Zakat collection and transparent distribution to families in need across the estate audited and disclosed.

Janāzah Support

Ghusl, kafan, funeral arrangements, and bereavement care for any Muslim family in Suncity estate, whenever the need arises.
